Your personal data is used to set up a user account in your name to enable you to register an appliance, to enable you to purchase WarrantyPlus for your registered appliance, to contact you in so far as this is desired by you, and to connect the SDB with your appliance.

It is not necessary to register an appliance, to connect your appliance to your SDB, or to purchase WarrantyPlus for the appliance you have registered in order to create a user account. If you have not registered an appliance and/or the connection of the SDB, we may not be able to answer your enquiries about this appliance, offer you certain services for the appliance, or send you automatic information about the current status of your appliance, e.g. warnings, ‘one-click customer service access’, remote control options or similar functions.

  • Provision of date reminders, notifications and alarm/fault messages

We will also send you automatically generated e-mails to inform you about error messages, date reminders and notifications about your Liebherr appliance. The notification settings can be individually configured in the ‘Administration/Notifications’ area of the customer portal.

ServicePlus: Subject to your consent, Liebherr will add all running times and values for your appliance and the SmartDeviceBox to your user account to enable you to use all of the functions provided within the scope of ServicePlus, as well as to send you automatically generated e-mails about any error messages on your appliance. The ‘Request support’ button is used to transfer both the error messages stored in the SmartDeviceBox and your contact details to a third party (service partner).

You will be separately notified about these options prior to connecting the SDB. The SDB will not transmit any personal data to Liebherr without your consent.

Data privacy

Our EDP systems are located in Germany and comply with the German legal regulations on data privacy. The premises and systems are protected against unauthorised access and data losses, and are regularly maintained. Access to our systems is subject to a strict roles concept; access is constantly monitored by those within Liebherr who are responsible to do so and is recorded in an auditable manner. Persons with access rights receive regular training on data privacy and are obliged to keep data confidential.

The information recorded includes the visit time, the websites visited, the time spent on the websites, regional origin and the website from which the user linked to the Liebherr websites. Liebherr conducts its tracking activities using web analysis software from the company WiredMinds. This has been certified as compliant with data privacy laws and only records non-personal data in an anonymous form. Use of Liebherr cookies

We use cookies to operate our website. Cookies are small files that are stored on your end device and send certain information (e.g. IP address, browser configuration, login details, authentication token, standard customer service, last connection calls etc.) to our server. The only cookies used for home.myliebherr.com are session cookies. These enable us to identify you as a known user when you log in again at a later date and to tailor the presentation of our website to your needs, e.g. by restoring technical settings or enabling you to toggle between different page views without losing data. We solely use the information obtained through such cookies to tailor the design of home.myliebherr.com to your needs. The information is not disclosed to any third parties outside the Liebherr group.

You can restrict or completely prevent the placement and saving of cookies at any time by changing your browser settings. On most Internet browsers, you can access the cookie settings via the menu bar at the top. Please note that if you restrict or completely prohibit cookies, some services on home.myliebherr.com may be restricted or unavailable.

Use of Facebook plugins

We use plugins from the provider Facebook.com on our website. Facebook is a service provided by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. Each time you access our website on which such a plugin is used, your browser downloads a corresponding plugin image from Facebook. This process notifies Facebook of the specific page on our website that you are visiting.

If you open our website while logged in to Facebook, the information collated by the plugin tells Facebook which exact page you are visiting and assigns this information to your personal Facebook account. If, for example, you click the ‘Like’ button or post comments, this information is transmitted to your personal Facebook user account, where it is stored. Furthermore, the information that you have visited our website is also passed to Facebook. This occurs whether or not you click the plugins.

If you wish to prevent the transmission and storage of data about you and your behaviour on our website, you must log out of Facebook before visiting us. The Facebook Privacy Policy provides further information about this, especially in relation to the collation and use of the data by Facebook, your rights in this regard and the available settings for protecting your privacy: https://de-de.facebook.com/about/privacy/

Furthermore, external tools are available on the market that can block Facebook social plugins with add-ons for all common browsers: http://webgraph.com/resources/facebookblocker/

An overview of the Facebook plugins can be found at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/

Use of Google AdWords

To promote our website, we furthermore use the Google AdWords advertising tool. Within the scope of this, we use the conversion tracking analysis service from Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043 USA, (hereinafter ‘Google’) on our website. If you have come to our website via a Google advertisement, a cookie is stored on your computer. Cookies are small text files that your Internet browser places and stores on your computer. These ‘conversion cookies’ expire after 30 days and cannot be used to personally identify you. If you visit certain pages on our website before the cookie has expired, we and Google can identify that you have clicked one of the advertisements we placed on Google and that you have been forwarded to our page.

The information collated using the conversion cookies is used by Google to compile visit statistics for our website. These statistics tell us the total number of users who have clicked our advertisement, as well as which pages on our website the users have then accessed. However, we (and others who advertise using Google Adwords) do not obtain any information that can be used to personally identify users.

You can prevent the installation of conversion cookies by activating the applicable browser settings, such as one that generally disables the placement of cookies or one that specifically blocks cookies, from the domain googleadservices.com alone.

Use of YouTube plugins

Data privacy statement on the use of YouTube plugins:

This website uses as least one plugin from YouTube, part of Google Inc., based in San Bruno/California, USA. If you visit one of our web pages equipped with a YouTube plugin, a connection will be established with the YouTube servers. The YouTube server will be notified of the specific page on our website that you have visited. Furthermore, if you were logged in to your YouTube account, you would enable YouTube to directly assign your surfing activity to your personal profile. You can prevent this assignment by logging out of your account before accessing our website. Further information about the collation and use of your data by YouTube can be found in the data privacy information at www.youtube.com.

Links to other websites

Our web pages may also contain links to other websites. Liebherr is not responsible for the content of these sites or how they handle your data. Please independently determine how the applicable websites handle your data.

Incorporation of third-party services and content

Third-party content, such as maps from Google Maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites, may sometimes be incorporated into our websites. For this to be possible, the providers of such content (hereinafter ‘third-party providers’) must be able to identify the user’s IP address. Without this, they are unable to send the content to the user’s browser. The IP address is therefore necessary to display this content. We endeavour to only use content from third-party providers who solely use the IP address to deliver the content. However, we have no influence on whether the third-party providers store IP addresses, e.g. for statistical purposes. If we are aware that this is occurring, we notify users.

Information, correction, blocking and deletion of data

Pursuant to German data protection laws, you are entitled to obtain information to ascertain whether Liebherr holds any of your personal data. If this is the case, you may request a copy of the applicable data with full details about the type and purpose of any data processing carried out by Liebherr. You are also entitled to add to and/or correct any personal data that we hold about you under consideration of the applicable legal requirements, as well as to have this deleted where legally permissible. Please note that Liebherr will only be able to carry out any such requests once you have provided personal identification. This prevents breaches of the confidentiality obligations relating to personal data arising from disclosure of information to non-authorised persons.

You are also entitled to revoke your consent for the processing of your personal data at any time.
